We\u2019re Tess (she\/her) and Alex (he\/him), and we\u2019ve been going to Fieldston for about \u2153 of the time Mr. Montera has been here. Since we became friends in third grade, we have worked professionally together on numerous projects (e.i. Fourth Grade Play-Grandpa Joe and Grandma Josephine). We think this one will be our best yet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We\u2019re not going to bore you with a long list of empty promises. We\u2019re not real politicians who will lie to you for your votes\u2013we\u2019re your friends, your mentors, and your advocates. We\u2019re sorry, we\u2019re not going to build a water slide in the pool, bring back the tree, or end climate change (although Tess and the Environmental Club are getting pretty close).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But what we will do is set up our campaign so that it prioritizes YOUR input and YOUR well being. Buckle up, we\u2019re now onto the transparency segment of every Fieldston campaign. We will make a website that includes weekly updates on our progress, a student suggestions forum, a calendar of upcoming events, and a YouCanBookMe to schedule meetings with us. On top of that, we\u2019ll have a page that allows students to vote on topics for roundtable discussions with us and the cabinet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A core tenet of our leadership with regards to communication with the student body is our policy on civil discourse. We are an administration centered on ALL student opinions, not just the ONE opinion that appears to exist at Fieldston. We ENCOURAGE all of you\u2013regardless of your political views or social identifiers\u2013to voice your concerns with us. This will not come at the cost of diversity, equity, and inclusion. In fact, we hope that welcoming a wide range of perspectives will allow Fieldston to better live up to its reputation as a beacon of progressive education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And finally, the moment you\u2019ve all been waiting for: FUN. We know when to get down to business, but we also know how to have a good time. If, sorry<\/em>, WHEN we are elected, we want to put the RADICAL back in ETHICAL <\/strong>CULTUR<\/strong>E FIELD<\/strong>STON SCHOOL (just switch it around, trust us it works). We know the past two years weren\u2019t great. In fact, they sucked. We\u2019re tired of settling for mediocre semesters and hearing that the fun stuff is going to be available next month, every month. That is why we are going to work with the Supervisor of Fun Times to make sure each month has one event that will promote students\u2019 happiness on campus.
