Introduction<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This summer, my family and I got a new puppy (which was one of the best ideas we\u2019ve ever had!) We thought it would be best to get one during COVID because we were home all the time and could take her on walks throughout the day and get her used to our family. We picked a Miniature American Shepherd with a blue merle coat. We named her Friday because \u201cEverybody Loves Friday.\u201d She is such a sweet and loving dog but a very active one. Just to make sure she gets her energy out and doesn\u2019t take it out on our furniture we have to take her on long walks and bring her to the dog park every day. These photos were taken to showcase her adventures and the new things she explores on her Upper West Side walks. Every photo was taken with an iPhone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday Making a New Friend<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday and I walked right outside our building and found a new puppy friend, Rosie, for her to play with. They played happily for 10 minutes but could have wrestled for hours if I hadn\u2019t pulled Friday away. (Photo was taken on November 15th, 2020, Upper West Side, Manhattan, NY.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday Stepping On Leaves For the First Time <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday spied a huge pile of leaves for the first time and hopped right in. She decided before the street lights switched on that she would stay for a little while. (Photo was taken on November 15th, 2020, Upper West Side, Manhattan, NY.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday Looking At the Leaves Falling <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we walked over to Riverside Drive there were more fallen leaves. Friday stopped to stare at the leaves falling one-by-one. Friday was equal parts confused and mesmerized. (Photo was taken on November 15th, 2020, Upper West Side, Manhattan, NY.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday Finding a Patch Of Grass to Rest On <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After over an hour of walking, Friday decided she needed to take a break and rest on a patch of grass. She was so comfortable that she didn\u2019t get up for several minutes. After trying to pull her up for a little, I let her relax until she was ready to walk home. (Photo was taken on November 15th, 2020, Upper West Side, Manhattan, NY.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday Taking a Nap After a Long Day <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a long walk, Friday was so exhausted that she ran straight to the sofa, jumped up, and immediately fell asleep. She slept for nearly an hour and barely moved once.
