Dear Upper School and 8th Grade,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re Mia Tuchman<\/strong> (she\/her) and Eric Liu<\/strong> (he\/him), and we\u2019re running to be your 2025\u20132026 Fieldston Student Government Co-Presidents!<\/strong> We\u2019re not here to make promises we can\u2019t keep. What we CAN promise is this: we\u2019ll bring energy, creativity, and follow-through to make Fieldston more<\/strong> connected, more<\/strong> exciting, and more<\/strong> representative of the student body. Voting Eric<\/strong> and Mia<\/strong> means voting for more<\/strong>. Whether it\u2019s on the field, in the classroom, or just walking through the Commons, we want this school to feel like a place where EVERYONE<\/strong> belongs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are just a few of our initiatives: <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

MORE SPIRIT AND MORE FUN \ud83c\udf89<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

School spirit doesn\u2019t have to mean just one pep rally a year. We\u2019re planning\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Themed Friday home games<\/strong> with prizes and merch giveaways to bring the hype, especially for underrepresented sports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Three pep rallies<\/strong> throughout the year: Homecoming, WinterFest, and Spring Fling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • More student vs. Teacher games<\/strong>, talent shows<\/strong>, and more reasons to get excited for school events. \ud83c\udfc0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Birthday shoutout wall<\/strong>, and an International Culture Week<\/strong> to celebrate our diverse community. \ud83c\udf82<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    We want to amplify student voices and make it easier to connect, create, and be heard.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • A media platform<\/strong>, run by students, for news, interviews, and live updates.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Stylish Year-round Fieldston merch<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • International Culture Week<\/strong> to celebrate the diverse backgrounds and stories within our school.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Let\u2019s make academics and career prep more accessible and less stressful.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • PowerSchool-style platform<\/strong> to check grades throughout the year, not just midterms and finals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Alumni & parent networking events<\/strong> to explore career paths in business, law, medicine, tech, and more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Resume workshops, internship resources<\/strong>, and a central site for summer opportunities<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • A new peer-to-peer tutoring program<\/strong>, Science Center<\/strong>, and support for existing help centers to be more widely used.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        • Riv discounts<\/strong> for Fieldston students (we\u2019re working on it).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
