It feels like not so long ago that we promised you’d Never be Broke Again (…). The saying “time flies when you’re having fun” has proven true. These nearly 9 months have been such a privilege for us. When we ran for this position, the core of our mission was to give back to a community that has given us so much. And boy, have we been lucky. The joy of representing our friends, teachers and classmates has been incomparable. The support we’ve received has left us with an incredible lasting memory of Fieldston.

This year, we’ve focused on emphasizing community at Fieldston. In addition to planning a pep rally in the fall, we organized a long-awaited spring pep rally to cinch Community Day on April 24. We’re excited to highlight our spring sports teams and fly into our final weeks with some Eagle spirit. This month will also include our first Senior Sunrise (thanks, TikTok), an early-morning breakfast celebration for the senior class. Additionally, we’ve opened communications with Manhattan College about certifying Fieldston classes for college credits, a long process that we hope future FSG co-presidents will continue to advance. We’ve continued the senior parking lottery from last year, with the help of our hardworking campus safety team. And…we’re still working on a couple last initiatives for the fall, which we hope to announce soon.

Moreover, we’ve connected with new members of the community. We presented to the Board of Trustees, met regularly with school administrators, and collaborated with the Communications Department. Most recently, we had the pleasure of hosting a group of students from Denmark. Credit is also due to our cabinet – especially for their resilience after an absolute robbery of a Family Feud assembly. Our student officials have achieved their own initiatives, many of which we’d hoped to see implemented during our presidency. It also appears that more than a few of the juniors have enjoyed their taste of power…so we’re excited to see who comes out on top.

To our next FSG Co-Presidents, we recommend that you start planning initiatives much (much) sooner than you think is necessary. Don’t be discouraged if you encounter some roadblocks. Along with accomplishments, we also tried to advance many initiatives which, in all honesty, did not come to fruition. However, the process led us to further appreciate the many resources Fieldston already offers alongside the amazing staff and faculty who support our educational and social experiences.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us, not only during our presidency, but throughout our years at Fieldston. We can’t wait to see what’s next!

With love,

Clara and Ellis

Dear Fieldston, We’re already spotting brainrotted presidential posters across campus, inevitably signaling that with great sadness, we must relinquish our FSG power.
