The concert started with a video introducing The “Short n’ Sweet” Show, a 60s show. Soon after, Carpenter opened by singing “Taste,” followed by “Good Graces” and “Slim Pickins.” She wore a pastel yellow rhinestone-covered bodysuit, which she sports during “Good Graces.” Then, during Slim’s “Pickins,” she debuts another outfit: a baby doll dress in the same yellow color. Then, the entire arena turned blue as Carpenter sang “Tornado’s Warning” while acting out and talking to her “therapist.”

Following a short intermission, the set changes to show Carpenter lying on a bed singing “Bed Chem.” The set changes as a new show, “Sabrina After Dark,” begins, where she comes out in a long lace black bodysuit and sings “Feather.” A new part of the stage is unlocked, and Carpenter walks down the runway. She then announces that she needs to go to the bathroom and walks up the stairs; although she is not going to the toilet, it is supposed to represent when you feel down at a party and go to the bathroom. She sings her ballads, “Sharpest Tool” and “Opposite.”

Once she leaves the “bathroom,” she begins singing “Because I Liked a Boy” and walks to the heart at the end of the stage. Then, all her dancers join her, lifting the mood as she sings a “Coincidence” as though around a campfire. Afterward, at the main event, the spin the bottle section, she sings “Mamma Mia” as her night song. The spin the bottle section is when Sabrina spins a bottle; depending on which song it lands on, she sings it as a cover. Then, she sings “Nonsense,” a happy song, before going into a sad song, “Dumb and Poetic,” with a long sparkly dress on. After her ballad, she sings “Juno,” “Please Please Please,” and “Don’t Smile.” She ends the concert with “Espresso.”

Overall, the concert was terrific. The concept of the different 60s TV shows was intelligent and on-brand for Carpenter. The set list is perfect because all the songs work with the vibe and are scattered throughout. Her costumes are amazing, and the vocals sound the same on the tracks. The concert was worth the hype, and I recommend going.

You may know her from “Girl Meets World” or her hit song, “Espresso,” but Sabrina Carpenter performed her first sold-out concert at Madison Square Garden on September 29th!
