On Wednesday, November 2nd, Fieldston’s Boys Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer and Varsity Volleyball teams all participated in the quarterfinals of NYSAIS playoffs in their respective sports. Boys Soccer took on the Riverdale Falcons at home, playing in front of a massive fan crowd. Fieldston Eagles fans showed up to support the boys and cheered them on throughout the match. Unfortunately, Riverdale closed out a 2-0 win against Fieldston. Girls Soccer won an impressive game against Spence and is gearing up for a showdown with Trinity in the NYSAIS semifinals. The girls beat Spence 1-0 behind a complete-game shutout from new varsity goalkeeper Alexa Citron (III) and a lone goal from Ariana Rigos (III). GVS will be playing on Randall’s Island at 2:30 on Friday. We hope that Eagles fans will show up to cheer them on as they fight for a spot in the finals. Fieldston Volleyball also had an impressive win this Wednesday, defeating Packer 3-0 at home to send them packing. The team has an opportunity to secure a spot in the finals if they win their 5:00 match this Friday at the Nest. If either Girls Soccer or Volleyball wins the whole tournament this year, every Fieldston Eagle should be able to say that they were there to see it happen. Show your support for our athletes, and let’s go Eagles.
