Food for Thought: Why is the banana still represented as the phone?

1 min read

imagesThink about it. The banana is a long, curvy, mushy, and yellow fruit. Nowadays a phone is rectangular, hard, digital, black, straight, and inedible. I don’t see one word in these descriptions that are at all similar to the banana.

I understand how the early phones had a lot in common with a banana. The were both long and curved, but why do we still have a connection with them today? The only reason this symbol is still used is that we enjoy feeling connected to our past. It makes us feel, well, human.
