This Fall, the Fieldston community is welcoming a new Director of Facilities, Evin Lederman of Nyack, New York. Lederman will be responsible for supervising all upkeep of the campus as well as directing school security matters. Born in New York City, Mr. Lederman grew up in Bergen County, New Jersey where he attended the Dwight-Englewood School starting in the seventh grade. In order to stay in his home state of “Joisey,” as Lederman jokes, he studied at Drew University in Madison. Lederman’s interests outside of work include spending time with his ten year-old twins and playing Ultimate Frisbee.
Before Fieldston, Lederman says, “The New York Botanical Garden and Ramapo College [located in Mahwah, New Jersey] were [his] primary venues for developing a career in Facilities Management.” Lederman expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity to work at Fieldston because “there is no more accepting and open community.” On a quirkier note, Lederman claims that three years ago he ran every day for 483 straight days and didn’t drop a single pound. Finally, if there’s anything he wants the student body to know about himself, it’s that he “[loves] coming to work every day.” Please join us in welcoming Mr. Lederman into the community and introduce yourselves in the hallways.
