Mikah and Niyah for FSG!

Hi everyone! We are Mikah and Niya, and we are one of your 2025 FSG candidate pairs! We are so excited to be sharing all our initiatives with you guys, and we hope you are able to relate to them and find them helpful. Please feel free to find either of us in the hallways or email us if you have any thoughts, questions or suggestions. This is your high school experience, and we want to make sure that it is the best that it could be and we would love your input. Student Life

  • App to replace student IDs to check in and out of the back gate
    • No more losing your IDs and constantly asking for new ones
    • No long lines to get back on campus at the back gate
    • No more swapping IDs with a friend to get let off campus
  • Having food (fruit, chips) more readily available around campus while the cafeteria is closed
  • Five-minute flex period for first-period classes
  • Hard cutoff for assembly times
    • full funny time for students
  • Improved cafeteria system
    • Ending long, time consuming lines during lunches that are already short
  • Opening polls for students to make general suggestions about problems they encounter with the school

School spirit/ involvement

  • More spirit days for the weeks of big events like winter fest and spring fling
    • anything but a backpack, twin day, etc.
    • More hype for school sports!
  • Community building activities
    • More schoolwide holiday socials
    • Minimum one grade wide field trip per grade per year
    • Annual school dance

Academics

  • A new system for teachers to better spread out waves of work across subjects
    • No more overwhelming waves of work broken up by periods with no assignments
    • Preventing the stress of having multiple major assignments at one time
  • A new form for rising upperclassmen to submit ideas they have for elective courses they wish to take
  • Play with puppies day to relieve stress during finals week
