Halloween at Fieldston is an exciting, spooky event. Students and teachers wear amazing costumes and compete for the best outfits at the school. While there are no official prizes, bragging rights speak loudly to the Fieldston community, especially for the rival PE, History and English departments, which go all out on Halloween. The History department won last year’s parade as Disney Villains, and the year before that, the PE department won dressed as gold sports trophies. The day is made all the more fun as it is one of the only holidays on which we attend school. Here are some of this year’s highlights:

First, the students paraded in their costumes:

Next, the teachers lined up by department. The Math department went first as variations on 67 numbers, followed by the Science department dressed as lab rats:

The Deans and Psychologists sported looks from the movie Inside Out,  and the Language department reveled in decades-specific music and dancing:

After that, English Department Chair Dr. Alwin Jones delivered a Macbethian poem before the Department showcased their costume as sticks in the mud, a play on an insult from Dr. Nancy Banks:

Then, the History department energized the gym with their musical costumes, lively performances and dancing:

Finally, the PE department performed a routine as the Savanna Bananas:

The student body cheered for their favorite, and the History Department emerged victorious for the second consecutive year!
