We’re Alexa Camilo (she/her) and Alex Goodman (he/him) (Alex2) and we’re running to be your next co-presidents!
When all is said and done, we know what you’re looking for in student leaders: passionate, driven people who will work hard to make your days here as smooth, exciting, and fun as possible. We’re offering you the chance to make that vision a reality!
Between us, we’ve accomplished a lot – two years on the AIB, many great varsity seasons, involvement in tons of school activities, and what is likely the most successful tenure as Secretary of Technology this school has ever seen. (Bonus for the most announcements in a single year, anyone?!) But we don’t do this for college applications or to impress anyone. We do it because this is where we belong. We love leading, problem-solving, and helping — and all we want is the chance to do even more.
Just remember: if we win this election, we will make change happen like never before, delivering one of the most productive student governments Fieldston has ever seen.
Implementing your ideas is the heart of our campaign, but here’s some of what you’ll see from us if elected:
Academic Initiatives:
- Simplifying Library Room Booking
- Booking rooms during A and B bands can be a total headache. What if, instead of running around trying to find an open space, you could book a room with just a few clicks — like scheduling a meeting with a teacher? A simple online system could make reserving study rooms effortless!
- LinkedIn Boot Camp
- Fieldston does a great job guiding us through the college process, but what about preparing for the real world? A once-a-month session on building résumes, practicing interviews, and finding internships could give students a head start in professional networking and real-world experience.
Social Initiatives:
- Festive Year-Round Decorations
- Let’s keep the school spirit alive throughout the year! Imagine walking through the halls and seeing spider webs, red lanterns, and even Christmas lights depending on the season! Thoughtful decorations would celebrate different cultures and bring our community closer together!
- Bringing Back the School Store
- We all remember the unfortunate incident that led to the school store’s closure — but it’s time for a fresh start. By implementing better management, we can bring back a student-run store stocked with everything you need: Fieldston merch (shirts, towels, etic.), essential school supplies, and of course, food and drinks to get you through the day!
Student Life:
- Monthly Affinity Group Showcases in the Commons
- Fieldston is a diverse community — so let’s showcase it! Once a month during activities, a different affinity group would take over the Commons to share what’s meaningful to them. Through music, food, art, and traditions, we can celebrate everyone’s unique identities!
- Stronger Buddy System
- Let’s build on the success of PLOP by pairing each junior with a freshman for monthly check-ins – offering guidance, advice, and support!
