Ruthie and Zeke For FSG!

3 mins read

Hi Fieldston!

If you haven’t already seen us on billboards, at the White House, or on tour as the captains of the internationally acclaimed…Rube Goldberg team…we are Ruthie (super talented artist/next Picasso, future vogue designer/genius fashion show participant) and Zeke (18 sport varsity athlete, sleeper build haver, and all around really chill guy) and we are running to be your next FSG co-presidents! Not only are we madly in love and planning to get married soon (save the date), but we are also a super funny and talented duo who have incredible (+achievable) ideas for making our lovely school even lovelier.

While our ideas are truly endless, we’ve listed some of our most exciting ones below. Since we are super proactive, all of our “in the Works” initiatives have already been discussed with Sr. Randolph and have been deemed full of potential with the right communication and planning!

Super Original and “in the Works”:

  1. Student Announcements!
  • Implementing a volunteer student announcement system during advisory (+ limits to prevent yapping).
  1. Thrift bin
  • Creating a thrift bin (!!!!) where you’ll be able to donate clothes in exchange for a free thrifting experience.
  1. Make the Commons The Commons™ again
  • Changing layout + adding fun activities + encouraging advanced notice about closure = reinvented Commons.
  1. Suggestion Locker
  • Creating a (super cute) locker where anyone can write suggestions/initiatives for us to tackle.
  1. Get on the Grass (& Quad)!
  • Adding more tables/benches + a bin with blankets and chairs for the upper + Senior grass.
  1. Revamp Community Day
  • Working to make Community Day feel more community-based through a field day or similar event.

Smaller Initiatives!

  1. We <3 Art
  • As two talented (?) Fieldston artists ourselves…We will advocate for student art  in hallways across campus.
  1. Student course selection panel!!
  • Implementing an email-based student panel during course selection for personalized info about electives.
  1. Confronting the email…situation.
  • Talking to community members about how to streamline communication.
  1. Communication to you
  • Implementing an (optional) mailing list for people interested in FSG goings-on.

If the initiatives above didn’t already convince you, let us reiterate how much this position would mean to us. As a pair who suffer from debilitating perfectionism, you can trust us to be organized, responsive, and effective presidents who will push for changes that benefit the entire community and listen to what changes you want to see.

If you want your co-presidents to be literally married to the job…

…VOTE ZUTHIE 4 PREZ!!!
