Hi everyone!
We’re Reanna (she/her) and Jack (he/him) and we are running to be your future FSG Co-Presidents! Reanna is known for her towering height, and Jack is known for his inspiring commitment to BVS! We’ve been in the FSG works since our 8th grade Covid cohort, and especially freshman year English class, where Reanna had to write Jack MULTIPLE notes app apologies.
Our campaign is designed to help everyone present the best versions of themselves and build a space in which you can maximize your involvement and activities in the school. Also if you have any suggestions for us we promise to do our best to implement them. Below are our main initiatives:
- Creating a Science Center! (And continuing the TA program)
- This would have a similar structure to the Math Center, for subjects Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, and Physics.
- We also know how much of a difference it makes to learn from another student VS a teacher, and want to continue/expand the Teachers Assistant program (where students come help and teach).
- In Person Job/Internship!
- We get emails about jobs and internships every year, but we want your application to be strengthened by possibly doing an IN PERSON fair where you can actually connect and talk to alumni.
- Earlier College Office Connections!
- We also know how stressful the idea of college can get- regardless of your grade. So we want to create a College Office panel, in the middle of Sophomore year. This wouldn’t be to create MORE stress, but instead to relieve the anxiety about the process.
- Appreciating the Art Students!
- Instead of just in the Art building and the library, we want to do a showcase located in either the Commons or the Stu-Fac.
- The Club Situation…
- We want student engagement to be OVER the roof, so we want to make clubs more active (Reanna’s guilty of her club only meeting once every year).
- We also want to initiate a 2nd club fair at the beginning of 2nd semester so newly formed clubs get a chance to recruit more people!
- Buddy System/Committee
- We know that being in high school can be a lot so we plan to form a committee of upperclassmen to support incoming high schoolers with work
- And finally… snacks!
- We will make sure that the variety AND number of snacks increases.
