HEY EVERYONE! We were given a 400 word limit but don’t worry we will try to keep this short. We know you barely do the reading for your classes so you won’t want to read all of this but once again we are Ava Love and Patrick Kisling. Ava is on the varsity volleyball team, has been here since PRE-K and is on the leadership for BOTH BSU and SOCM. Patrick is most known for his DOMINATING presence and prowess on the football field AND hockey rink! Ava has tons of leadership experience and Patrick is a really great cheerleader, support person, and is very reliable. Together we make the perfect team. We have a wide network around the school so we are able to be the change that you all want to see. Our email has our 5 biggest initiatives but we want to use this space to talk more in detail about two of them. Being completely honest, we can’t promise to get all the things we want to get done and it wouldn’t be fair to make empty promises. Something we do promise is that we will try our hardest to listen to what YOU ALL want and make an attempt to get it to happen. We believe one of the most unique attributes of fieldston is our community. This year the football team was one of the biggest supporters of the fall sports so it’s only right that we give the support back. By creating at least one football game on a Friday, it makes our football team feel the appreciation that they make others feel. Plus it would bring together our community by supporting our team and booing the other!!!! Now onto the second one! We have an authentic commitment to inclusivity and diversity. By starting the process of hiring a person of color as a psychologist we feel it can further the community at our school. Yes we have grade psychologists whom we adore but that 36% of people of color at our school need someone who they feel comfortable talking to. A lot of times it’s difficult to confide in someone who cannot understand the struggles of being a person of color in a predominantly white institution which is why we believe this is so important.
