The Fieldston election season has begun, kicked off by the November 6th Form V FSG Representatives election. The candidate field was small this year, with only four candidates running for the position: Juniors Chase Shaftel, Patrick Kisling, Lucas Hanson-Mathur and Gabriel Dayan. After giving their speeches during a Form meeting earlier in the day, voting concluded, with Chase Shaftel and Patrick Kisling being chosen to fill the roles of FSG representatives, taking over from last year’s representatives Gregory Brooks and Reanna Bilbao.

Known for being an outspoken and energetic student,  Chase Shaftel says he looks forward to trying to “bring the community closer together as a whole,” adding that he wants the class of 2025 to “achieve great things this year.” It seems that his goals align with his fellow FSG Representative Patrick Kisling, who looks forward to trying to get a snack locker installed, an initiative that would be greatly appreciated by the entirety of the 11th grade.  Kisling is a realist who knows that while Junior year is demanding,  he urges his fellow Form V’s to not obsess over.  “It’s not that serious.”

Perhaps the message so far is, good food and good vibes will make the fifth form jollier. Not a bad political program.
